Chaicharn Akkawutvanich
Mr. Chaicharn Akkawutvanich was born in Chonburi province in the eastern part of Thailand. Recently, he is studying Ph.D. program of School of Information Science and Technology (IST) at Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Thailand. He received his Bachelor of Engineering with second class honours in Electrical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in 2006. His interest at that time was on the development of Chlorophyll’s type and quantity measurement under Bioelectronics Research Laboratory (BERL). With the fascination of multidisciplinary knowledge, from 2009 until 2012, he pursued Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at RWTH Aachen, Germany. During the study, he had a chance to work and do the internship on the project jointed between Institute of Imaging and Computer Vision (LFB) and Institute and Out-Patient Clinic of Occupation Medicine to evaluate computer-aided diagnosis (CADx). After that he continued to do the research based on image processing with CT scan data to find the suitable method of 3D modeling, visualization, and volumetric measurement of Pleural Thickening.
Besides academic area, after graduation in 2006, he worked in petrochemical industry with Rayong Engineering Public Company (REPCO) which is subsidiary of Siam Cement Group (SCG) Chemicals as an instrument and electrical maintenance engineer. In 2013 for a short period of time, he had a chance to be a research assistant in Knowledge Elicitation and Archiving laboratory (KEA) of National Electronics and Computer Technology (NECTEC) in Thailand working mainly on data mining and graph. Subsequently from 2014 until 2017, he moved entirely into business area by being selected to participate Engineering Graduate Program (EGP) of Siemens Healthcare Ltd., Thailand and later getting promoted to customer service business support manager.
Current research interests:
The development of adaptive exoskeleton system for improving human walking ability which will lead to gain better understanding of how bio-inspired control and machine can be applied for complex human locomotion control. Particularly, the natural and smooth human machine interaction is going to be established.
